If you were held at the Men’s Central Jail (MCJ) in unit 2500 or 2700 on September 7, 2021, and subjected to a visual body cavity search, then you may be a Settlement Class Member.
If you are a Settlement Class Member and wish to receive a cash payment then you must submit a Claim Form by March 2, 2027.
Los Angeles County has agreed to pay $1.5 million into a Settlement Fund. Part of this money will be used to attorneys’ fees and costs, the costs of administration, and related expenses. All the rest of this money will be paid out to Settlement Class Members.
The money will be divided equally between Class Members who submit a claim, with a minimum payment of $5,000.00.

The deadline to submit a Claim Form online or by email is March 2, 2027. If you are mailing your Claim Form, it must be mailed with a postmark date no later than March 2, 2027.
